Our next Taste-this review is here and this time we visit Elba, the charming restaurant sittuated in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq. This cosy restaurant specializes in Mediterranean tasting dishes, grills, pasta, and pizza. I have been there repeatedly during the past two years and I was always treated to a delightful experience that left a lasting impression.
The moment I stepped into Elba for the first time, I was captivated by its warm and inviting atmosphere. The modern and rustic decor create a cosy yet sophisticated setting. The soft lighting added to the overall ambiance, make it a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a casual meal with family and friends.
Let’s move to the most important components… the Food. The menu at Elba offers a wide array of Mediterranean options, and it did not disappoint. The pasta is simply to die for. The menu features a vast selection of delectable pasta dishes using fresh authentic Mediterranean ingredients. The tasting dishes were bursting with flavor and offered a satisfying variety of tastes and textures. While the pizza was great, it didn’t stand out as much as the other offerings. I am not saying that the pizza is inferior, because it is the opposite of that. However, in my opinion, the menu offers so much that it would be a pity to settle for pizza.
The service at Elba was good. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable and happy to offer recommendations. Overall I can’t complain. Elba’s drink menu was decent, featuring a selection of wines, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages. They do host Happy Hours on cocktails very often, which is amazing given that the cocktails are really exquisite here. The establishment also caters to vegans, vegetarians, and gluten-intolerant guests, so that’s a plus if you fall into those categories.
Elba provides good value for the quality of food and service offered and the biggest plus of this place is the availablity for ample parking, something which is rare nowadays. The only complaint I have (if you can call it that)
